Tomorrow, April 7th 2016 is World Health Day, and the focus this year is “Together on the front line against Diabetes”- Diabetes is one of the key NCDs that grabs hold of Tongans, and apart form their health also puts a heavy burden on their finances. There is also a startling rise in the number of pregnant mothers developing diabetes – referred to as Gestational Diabetic Mothers or GDMs.
The planning & implementation of the National Non- Communicable Diseases (NNCD) strategy is based on a strong, unified multi-sectoral approach to strengthen Tonga’s fight against the significantly high morbidity and mortality rate on one hand; and the resulting huge economic burden on the other; amongst other factors, and in partnership with the Ministry of Health, supported by the Government of Australia TongaHealth invites you for in depth information and even a LIVE talk-back session on the 7th of April 2016. through the following mediums and times:
