05th April, 2022 TONGAN The Prime Minister, Honourable Hu’akavameiliku received three tractors from a New Zealand businessman at a presentation event in Tofoa this morning.
The businessman had agreed to assist Tonga’s recovery from the January 15 Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Ha’apai volcanic eruption and tsunami.
In receiving the tractors the Hon. Prime Minister stated that government was grateful for the assistance.
“This will assist community members in their farming as we work on recovery and returning to normalcy,” Hon Hu’akavameiliku stated.

Hon. Hu’akavameiliku and Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Poasi Tei were on hand at the National Emergency Management Office (NEMO) depot at Tofoa to receive the assistance.
Mrs Salote Sisifa, the local focal point for the assistance in Nuku’alofa, was also present alongside local community leaders who would benefit from the timely assistance.
