1 Loans Officer –Head Office, Nuku’alofa and 1 Loans Officer – Hahake Office, Tatakamotonga
The position Loans Officer at Head Office reports to Manager – Lending and the position Loans Officer at Hahake Office reports to the Branch Manager – Hahake Office.
The Loan Officer – is accountable for efficient and timely processing of customer loan applications submitted to the Bank; managing, monitoring and growing quality portfolio through sound credit assessments according to the Bank’s policies and guidelines; provide professional customer service approach and dealings with clients at all times; work collaboratively through meeting lending compliance requirements, regular client visits and identifying business development potentials; achieving growth targets, ability to plan & monitor trends and risks of the assigned portfolio, ongoing review of loan accounts ensuring appropriate actions are completed, focus on sales culture and improving customer satisfaction at every opportunity without compromising risk.
The role is accountable for providing immediate relief cover for Lending positions within Head Office or other Branches when required.
Key Skill and Knowledge required:
- Bachelor in Commerce or related fields such as economics, finance or banking is desirable
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral (English and Tongan is desirable)
- Computer literacy with good understanding of Ms Office products including Excel, Word etc.
- Knowledge and ability to manage a set of accounts, at different level of borrowings to different industries
- Critical thinking – using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Time management – ability to prioritize workload, work under pressure, meet customer needs and deadlines
- Possess a strong and active interest in banking negotiations (micro credit, agriculture lending and businesses)
- Ability to quickly grasp and understand new tasks and ideas
- Ability to work as a team with positive attitude
Remuneration: The post of Loan Officer –is at Band 9 with a salary scale ranging from $13,432 to $20,148 per annum. The entry point will depend on qualification and working experience being brought to the job.
