At the launch of the Hala Fononga, which is the “National Strategy for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases 2015-2020”, the Prime Minister of Tonga, the Honourable ‘Akilisi Samiuela Pohiva had spoken about the need to translate the “our vision into action” .
Join the CEO of the Ministry of Health and Chairman of the National NCD committee Dr. Siale ‘Akau’ola andf the CEO of TongaHealth Seini Filiai as they clearly present the “plan of action” for this crucial National strategy.
Dr. Siale will give an overview on the function of the NNCDC as overseer of the implementation of the National Strategy for NCDs and also brief the viewers on the 4 expected long term outcomes of this National strategy.
The planned activities that will lead to these 4 eventual outcomes which will be carried out through integrated governance and a multi-sectoral approach.
The NCD Strategy is a multiyear strategy funded by the Governments of Tonga and Australia.
