27th November, 2019 TONGAN This is to notify the public that Night Operation to and from Vava’u Lupepau’u Airport has been suspended due to trees and obstacles infringing the approach areas from both the sides of the runway (i.e the Leimatu’a and Holonga side).
Work were conducted to remove these trees and obstacles and are now confirmed to be completed. This notification is to confirm that trees and obstacle that infringed the approach path for both sides (Leimatu’a area and Holonga area) of Runway at Vava’u have been removed.
Therefore, night operation to and from Vava’u is now available to be conducted by the Airline. The Civil Aviation Division of the Ministry of Infrastructure wishes to thank the people of Leimatu’a and Holonga for their cooperation and support that enable this project to proceed smoothly till the end.In addition, the effort of the Leimatua district officer, the Leimatua town officer and Holonga town officer as well as the officer working at the Vavau 16 constituent office is hereby acknowledged. Similarly, the Civil Aviation Division of the Ministry of Infrastructure also wishes to sincerely acknowledge the effort of Tonga Airports Limited in helping to conduct the operation of trees removal.
