22nd March 2016 On 18 March 2016, China handed over the package of grassroots projects to improve the development of the education and agriculture sectors in Ha’apai.
The projects including the provision of 15 water tanks for the primary schools, the fence construction for GPS Nomuka, GPS Lotofoa and GPS Fakakai as well as two tractors for local communities in Ha’apai. It also include some scholarship for the excellent students from poor families.
In his remarks, Mr. WANG Lushan, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Tonga mentioned China attaches great importance for the improvement of Tonga in agricultural and educational sectors, which are key areas to the development of a country and her people.
Hon. Mo’ale Finau, Governor of Ha’apai and Mr. Vosa Taka, Member of Parliament for Ha’apai 13 extended their appreciation for the support from the people of China.
