04th July, 2019 The 25 young women who are vying for the Miss Heilala Crown 2019 were joined by four government ministries, the Reigning Miss Heilala Kalo Funganitao, and the Miss Pacific Islands Leashina Kariha in the Heilala Festival float parade this morning through central Nuku’alofa.
The parade was watched by hundreds of people who lined up the road.
The Miss Heilala programme started on Monday, July 1 with the Formal Interview at Fa’onelua Convention Centre followed by the Miss Heilala Tau’olunga Competition on Tuesday, July 2. Last night was the judging events of the Island Creation and Sarong.
Contestants will showcase their talents this evening at Queen Salote Memorial Hall and the pageant will wrap up tomorrow evening with the Heilala Ball and Crowning of the new Miss Heilala for 2019-2020.
