 Vacancies:

  2. Minor Asset Planning Consultancy
  3. Training and Capacity Building Officer
  4. Deputy Project Coordinator

Interested in building your career in project support involving international development and natural resource management?  The Kingdom of Tonga is seeking financing from the World Bank for an exciting new project to support the sustainable management of our fisheries.  This project is expected to start in mid-2019. Advanced funding has been provided to establish a Project Management Unit within the Ministry of Fisheries and to undertake certain preparatory activities.

The proposed project is for 6 years. PMU staff will be engaged under contract under similar terms and conditions to Ministry staff. Contract staff will be fully embedded within the Ministry and will work as part of the Ministry’s structure.

Vacancies 1 and 2 are short term output based consultancies.

Vacancies 3 and 4 are full time for up to 3 years, with an extension available of up to another 3 years based on satisfactory performance. These positions will be required to provide hands-on support in their area of specialty, across a range of project activities. These are not advisory posts.

The advertised vacancies are available now and applications are sought from suitably qualified people.

Applications will need to be presented in the required format as shown in on the terms of reference for each position.

Existing public servants may apply for vacancies 3 and 4 but World Bank and Tonga Government policies do apply.

Selection will be merit based. All applicants will be required to submit a conflict of interest declaration.

Applications may be submitted by either individuals, or businesses employing individuals. Where submitted by businesses, the application must provide resumes for each individual proposed to fill the post.

Only applicants who have the right to live and work in Tonga are eligible to apply for vacancies 3 and 4, whilst vacancies 1 and 2 are available to international consultants.
