18th January 2019 TONGAN The Climate Resilient Sector Project (CRSP) under the Ministry of MEIDECC is currently hosting a four-day training for local communities, on the Climate Change Trust Fund (CCTF) phase 2. The training commenced January 15 at the Climate Change Department’s Conference Room which aims to educate communities on the programme in order to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
This is the second call for application on the Climate Change Trust Fund. The first call was finalised last year with 33 successful applications.
CCTF Coordinator Feleti Fa’otusia said the training is vital for applicants to know how to fill in application forms in order to meet the objectives of the program.
He stated that the number of participants involving in this year’s training is increasing which reflect critical needs in local communities.
The training started with the members from the Eastern District on Tuesday, followed by the Western District on Wednesday, the Central District on Thursday and then the Nuku’alofa District today.
Similar training will be conducted in Vava’u, Ha’apai and ‘Eua next week.
