Ports Authority Tonga is seeking to recruit a Special Heavy Plant Operator to be able to operate heavy machineries.
A great heavy machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co -workers.
The goal will be to ensure that the operation of heavy plant machineries will be carried out smoothly to maximize efficiency and enhance work production at Ports Authority Tonga.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate must be able to operate heavy machineries including:
- Loaders
- Excavators of any type
- Crawler crane
- Bulldozers
- Heavy trucks
Perform routine check-up of the machineries periodically including:
- Engine oil level
- Cooling water
- Hydraulic oil level
- Air cleaner
- Tyre pressure
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a heavy machine operator
- Special skill on Foreshore Rock Revetment and Civil Works
- Be able to work independently
- Good communication skills
- Be able to keep records of machineries working hours
- Be able to read and understand technical signals occurring in the machine
- Working knowledge in panel screening
- Be able to work long hours
- Be able to detect any mechanical faults occurring in the machine
- Adherence to health and safety regulations such as constant use of protective gear
- Must have working experiences more than 10 years on heavy Machineries.
The successful applicant will report directly to the Manager of Infrastructure and Technical Unit.
