The Chairman and Founder of Digicel Group, Mr. Denis O’Brien met the Acting Prime Minister of Tonga and Minister for Meteorology, Energy, Information, Disaster Management, Environment, Climate Change and Communications (MEIDECC) Hon. Siaosi Sovaleni on May, 9th, 2016.
Hon. Sovaleni welcomed Mr. O’Brien on behalf of the Prime Minister and the people of Tonga.
In their meeting the Acting Prime Minister expressed his gratitude on the on-going support of Digicel to the developments of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Telecommunications here in Tonga.
Mr. Denis O’Brien visited Tonga for a board meeting with Digicel Tonga and to celebrate Digicel 8th birthday yesterday.
The Chairman was accompanied by the Regional CEO for Digicel in the Pacific Group, Mr. Michael Murphy.
Also attended the meeting was the CEO for MEIDECC Mr. Paula Ma’u.
Mr. O’Brien is the Chairman of Digicel Group, a world-wide company based in Ireland.
