22nd January, 2018 English l Tongan The Honourable Prime Minister Samuela ‘Akilisi Pohiva, has recovered from his illness in the past weeks which confined him to the Intensive Care Unit at Vaiola Hospital for strict observation and monitoring.
The Honourable Minister for Health is pleased to inform the public that the Prime Minister is in good health and was discharged from the hospital during the weekend.
It is important for the public to note that various reports in the media, stating that the Honourable Prime Minister is suffering from cancer, are untrue.
The Honourable Prime Minister and his family would like to thank all who have visited and offered prayers during this very difficult time.
